# Overview of Insights

Insights is an add-on feature of the Analytics module, sitting alongside Flex Modes. Designed for busy sales teams, it provides out-of-the-box functionality so they can hit the ground running. It automatically analyzes your data and delivers clear, actionable outcomes, removing the need for manual analysis or deep knowledge of Analytics. 

Currently, Insights is focused on sales data, helping sales teams uncover opportunities and drive more revenue. In the future, we’ll expand its scope to deliver insights across other areas of your business.

### Access Insights

To access the Insights feature, you need both the Insights license and the user permission. You'll then see the **Insights** item in your Phocas navigation menu.

Note for administrators: You need to make the following changes for the applicable users:

* Assign the Insights license to users. You can either do this for individual users on their [user account page](https://app.gitbook.com/s/vQCmtGTR7MsjcI62Vdki/users/add-update-user/user-account-page) or multiple users using the [bulk update tool](https://app.gitbook.com/s/vQCmtGTR7MsjcI62Vdki/users/add-update-user/user-permissions) or [License view](https://app.gitbook.com/s/vQCmtGTR7MsjcI62Vdki/users#users-licenceview) on the Users page.
* Ensure each user has access to the database(s) you're using for Insights. See [Manage a user's database access and restrictions](https://docs.phocassoftware.com/administration/users/manage-a-users-database-access-and-restrictions).

### Get started

When you click **Insights** in the navigation menu, you'll see a list of your Phocas databases organized into two groups: **Configured** and **Unconfigured**. Databases need to be [configured (setup) by an Administrator](https://docs.phocassoftware.com/analytics/insights/set-up-a-database-for-insights) before you can use them in Insights.&#x20;
