# Get started as a Viewer

As a Viewer, you can gain insights from the data, but you can’t perform deep analysis or customize content. You have read-only access to dashboards and favorites that have been shared with you.

Here are the key pages to help you get up and running:

1. Learn what a Viewer license includes and how it's different from a Full license: [User licenses, profiles and permissions](/basics/getting-started/user-permissions-and-licenses.md)
2. Learn about what dashboards are and how to access and interact with them: [Use dashboards](/basics/dashboards/use-dashboards.md)
3. Learn how what favorites are and how to view and interact with them: [View favorites](/basics/favorites/view-and-save-favorites.md)
4. If you have the Budgets & Forecasts module, learn about its homepage and how to open a workbook: [Take a tour of Budgets & Forecasts](/budgets-and-forecasts/getting-started/take-a-tour-of-budgets-and-forecasts.md)
5. Users with a Viewer license or assigned the Viewer profile are not restricted from editing CRM items by default. If you need these users to have read-only access, you can configure this in [CRM restrictions](/administration/users/add-update-user/user-account-page.md#crm-restrictions).

Want to do more with data or create your own content? Ask your administrator about upgrading to a Full license.
