Filter data
Narrow the data in the grid to focus on the items that matter to your analysis.
Filter the data in the grid to focus your analysis on the items that matter. You can apply a filter in several ways:
Focus on selected rows: Select one or more rows, then select Focus to keep only those items in the grid.
Search for a value: Enter text in the Filter by keyword box to find matching items.
Filter from a cell: Right-click a cell and select Focus, Exclude, or one of the available comparison options.
Create an advanced filter: Select the filter button to create more specific filter rules.

When you apply a filter, the grid updates to show the matching data and the filter displays in the filter bar above the grid. You can combine filters to progressively narrow your results.
Choose how to filter your data
Use the filtering method that best suits what you want to find:
Focus or exclude data: Keep selected data in your analysis or remove data you don't want to include.
Search for data: Use the filter bar or a value in the grid to quickly find matching or comparative data.
Create advanced filters: Create and combine rules when you need more control over the criteria.
Focus, Exclude, searches, and filters created from the grid all create filter rules. You can view and edit these rules in the Advanced filter panel.
Work with filters
Applied filters remain active as you continue your analysis. For example, you can switch dimensions or change measures while retaining the filtered dataset.
The filter bar above the grid shows the filters that are currently applied.
Hover over a filter tag to see more information.
Expand the filter bar to view the individual filters, then hover over a filter to see what’s included.
Select a filter to view or edit its rule in the Advanced filter panel.

Focused data is also indicated in the dimension list. The number beside the dimension shows how many entities are included in the focus. Select X to remove the focus from that dimension.

You can apply more than one filter to progressively narrow the results. For example, you might focus on a group of customers, then add another filter to show only those customers with sales above a specified value.
When you apply two or more filters, the And indicator shows that the AND condition applies. You can change this to an OR condition in the Advanced filter panel.

Remove filters
To remove a filter, click the X on its tag in the filter bar. To remove multiple filters at the same time, click Clear in the filter bar.
To completely reset the data, click the Reset button.
