# Rename a financial statement

You can rename the Profit and Loss, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet statements that you created. You can't rename the original statements (created with your database) nor the Trial Balance.

1. In the **Statements** window, select the statement you want to rename by clicking the number to the left of its name, then click **Rename**.
2. Change the name as required and click **Rename**.
3. Click **Close** > **Yes** to [rebuild the database](https://docs.phocassoftware.com/financial-statements/managing-statements/customize-a-financial-statement/rebuild-the-database).
